This course concentrates on medical microbiology and provides core knowledge of infectious disease processes affecting each organ system, as well as working knowledge of the appropriate clinical laboratory investigations. The course has one credit hour laboratory, which covers a variety of microbiological and immunological techniques, with experiments designed to illustrate major concepts of bacteriology, virology, mycology and immunology.
