Department of Biomedical Sciences

 


The Department of Biomedical Sciences is considered the largest department of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University. It was founded in the academic year 2011-2012, and includes the following divisions:


1 - Division of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology
2 - Division of Physiology and Pathophysiology

3 - Division of Public Health
4 - Division of Optics & Optometry
5 - Division of Hysiology, Pharmacology & Toxicology

6-  Biophysics & Medical Imaging

The department offers a Bachelor of Biomedical Science BBMS so that the minimum number of credit hours to obtain the certificate is 130 credit hours divided into compulsory university requirements (18 C. H),compulsory general science and biomedical science requirements (87 C. H.), and optional biomedical  science requirements (25 C. H.). The process of teaching is a minimum of 3 years and maximum 5 years


Students with a Palestinian Tawjihi/ Scientific stream are accepted competitively , as well as students with certificates that are equivalent either from Arab countries or other countries.


Obtaining the Bachelor degree of Biomedical Science is the first and necessary step for entry into other programs, such as: MD, Pharm.D, Doctor of Optometry, Doctor of podiatry, Dentistry and Chiropractic. Similar programs and postgraduate studies in the field of Health Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences may be introduced according to the conditions required by each program.
