 This course delineate the midwives  responsibilities related to early postpartumcare. Delineate the basic physiologic changes that occur in the postpartum period as a woman’s body returns to its prepregnant state. It is also concerned with immediate physiological and psychological care of the newborn. It discusses normal puerperium.  The student midwife will be able to provide appropriate assessment and holistic care of the mother and her baby during puerperium
