An-Najah’s Professor Ansam Sawalha, First Female Full Professor in Palestine

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah celebrated the promotion of Professor Ansam Sawalha to Assistant Professor in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology, which makes her the first Palestinian woman to have the title of Assistant Professor in that field.

Professor Sawalha expressed her gratitude to An-Najah and Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President for his constant support of scientific research. She also commended her faculty’s staff members’ role in her achievement.

Notes:

Dr. Ansam Sawalha who is the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at An-Najah National University, is the first Palestinian woman named to the Women in Science Hall of Fame. Dr. Sawalha was honored for her achievement of establishing the first Poison Control and Drug Information Center in Palestine in 2006.
