Abstract:

Introduction: The pressure ulcers are  defined as "topical injuries of the skin that lie behind the tissue on the bone due to pressure and shear." The Bose acquired in hospitals is the most related problems among health care professionals because it threatens the patient's quality of life and increases hospital costs. To identify pressure injury knowledge in critical care nurses related to prevention and dealing how to manage the pressure injury.  Moreover, this study was answer the main questions if there is a relationship between the level of knowledge among close units nurses and pressure ulcer prevention related to age, gender, clinical experience, and level of educational.

Method: A cross-sectional design used to describe the variables.  About 156 nurses recruited in our study in Nablus hospitals(ALwatani Hospital , Rafedia Hospital) or private such as (Ittihad Hospital, Nablus Hospital, NNUH, Alenjeli Hospital , AlArabi Hospital ).

Result: The proportion of nurses who answered the correct answers was very few, as no question was answered correctly by all nurses, and only 8 questions were answered with a correct answer of about half.

There was a significant proportion of the questions in which the answers of the wrong nurses exceeded the correct answers. In questions 7, 3.1, less than 20% of the nurses responded correctly.

Absence of educational programs and courses at the level of knowledge of nurses with regard to pressure ulcers, leading to increased risk of pressure ulcers with patients

In general, nurses' responses were less than 50% in all areas covered by the questionnaire. This percentage is very small and indicates the low level of knowledge among nurses regarding the prevention of pressure ulcers.

Conclusion: The level of knowledge of nurses at the Nablus hospitals about pressure ulcers and their prevention was very small, and therefore the probability of occurrence is very high. This issue needs further studies because of its importance, and hospital management must work hard to increase the level of knowledge of nurses working there.
