This course is important to physiotherapy students to understand the aspects of theoretical and
practical theories behind prosthetics and orthotics. It will teach students to have a vision of
applying prosthetics and orthotics which are related to deformities and dysfunction of patients
that are being treated by physiotherapists. Students must have a good knowledge of
biomechanics and kinesiology to apply prosthetics ad orthotics. Students will learn about gait
analysis.
Students will learn about different types of orthotics and prosthetics and will learn the difference
between both. Students will learn about the conditions that needed applying prosthetics and
orthotics.
