The main aim of this course is to introduce to gait analysis and to present the theoretical
underpinnings, technical observation and assessment skills necessary to quickly and accurately
identify gait abnormalities. These abnormalities, or biomechanical insufficiencies, may
contribute to the current or future injuries of an affected patient. Students will be able to
determine the best intervention/s to allow the patients to return to or continue life at their desired
level. This course will enable students to take the following course and learn the basics of
biomechanics and kinesiology course more easily.
