This practical course was designed to enhance the practical background of students with respect to topics covered in instrumental analysis theoretical course. This laboratory course introduces students to many instruments used in pharmaceutical analysis and to some of the instrumental techniques that are most commonly used in bioanalysis. It emphasizes on the use of modern instrumentation to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses and determination of physical properties and chemical composition of some drugs. In this course students will be given sessions of different techniques including spectroscopy, chromatography, and electrochemistry that are adapted by international pharmacopeias. Some experiments are based on HPLC, visible spectrometry and ion-exchange chromatography.
