Bachelor of Medical Imaging

About us :

The program is offered at the bachelor level. The student will earn their degree upon successful completion of 128 credits hours distributed as follows:

  1. 18 credit hours of university requirements
  2. 37 credit hours of General and Biomedical science requirements
  3. 73 credit hours of department requirements

 

The curriculum includes theoretical and practical sessions distributed over three years. The courses are offered in a systemic curricular manner proceeding from basic to advanced knowledge and skills related to plain radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, interventional radiography and sonography while increasing the student's conceptual, inter-personal, and technical skills required for competent radiologic technologist.

 

Goals and Objectives of the Program:

 

  1. Develop the students’ knowledge and skills in their specialist field.
  2. Promote a spirit of scientific inquiry amongst the staff and students.
  3. Guide the students’ development of ethical values.
  4. Foster a sense of professional community amongst the students and those of other departments.
  5. Encourage attitudes of life-long learning, including the pursuit of continuing education opportunities.
  6. Foster professional links with working radiographers and with the Ministry of Health, in order to prepare the department for a leading role in developing good radiation protection practices.
