An integrated function of the human body is considered ranging widely from cellular to higher organ-system levels. This course will cover the molecular composition of living cells, the chemical reactions that biological components undergo the regulation of these reactions and the nutrients that are needed by the living cells. The course material covers bioenergetics and intermediary metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins and their enzymatic regulation. It is a fundamental biological and medical science course that provides an understanding to cell biology, microbiology, nutrition, pharmacology, pathology and physiology at the molecular level.
