This course is the first of two courses designed to introduce students to the use, theory, fitting, prescribing, post-fitting care and contact lens solutions for spherical soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. The course will consist of 3 hours of classroom lecture, and 3 hours of laboratory per week. By the end of this course students should be able to successfully and efficiently perform a basic contact lens eye exam that includes fitting, evaluation, and post-fitting care of spherical soft and gas permeable contact lenses.
